Pancake

Bahan:
  • 1 cup tepung terigu
  • 2 sdm mentega lelehkan
  • 2 sdm gula
  • 3/4 cup susu suhu ruangan
  • 2 sdm cuka
  • 1 telur besar
  • 1 sdt garam
  • 1 sdt baking soda
  • 1 sdt baking powder
  • Mentega secukupnya untuk menggoreng

Cara:
  1. Campurkan cuka dengan susu. Biarkan 15 menit agar menggumpal.
Tahan 2 hari.

Oven Fried Chicken, a healthier, better taste of KFC

Everybody loves KFC.... and just like my compatriots back home, i loooove them (yes Indonesians are crazy over KFC!). I feel grateful that they are not that difficult to be found here in France, in fact there is one not that far from where i used to live and work. But i hardly ever go there... i dunno why. Maybe because here, KFC is only good served with french fries, while back home they serve rice on your plate together with hot industrial sambal (Asian condiments which is more famous than ketchup or mayo). But everyone knows that eating deep fried food is not good to your health. So what to do?

Recently, i am surrounded by people having diets and aiming healthy life. It seems that my friends are all addicted into organic food, and yoga. Unfortunately i am not such a healthy people actually, i don't do any sports. My one and only effort is that i am trying to pay attention of my daily sugar consumption, but no major success either... Anyway, i am more of a curious person when it comes to trying out recipe. And this is a recipe that one of my healthy friends has sent me through her Facebook. A fried chicken which was made in the oven? Is it possible? Turned out it was!!!

Anyway,  i did major makeover to the original recipe, but please go to the link of the original recipe to get more tips how to make this cleanly. I actually use any basic chicken katsu recipes, but use the cornflakes for the outside layer, instead of panko flour..

Ingredients: (i do not really have the exact measurement)
  • 7 chicken drumsticks
  • 4 tbs of  sake
  • salt and paper
  •  2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup of fall purpose flour
  • 2 cups (or more) corn flakes, blended with food processor until smooth
  •  olive oil (you can use the bottle with spray tip...but i forgot to buy those)

Method:
  1. Mix sake with salt and paper, and use this to marinate the chicken drumstick for 15 minutes
  2. In 3 separate plates, put the flour, beaten eggs and blended corn flakes.
  3. One at a time, dredge the chicken to the all purpose flour, and then top it with beaten eggs, then corn flakes, and lastly top it with olive oil. Repeat with the rest of the chicken.
  4. Place them in baking tray. Heat oven for 200 C. Bake for 30 minutes.
  5. Enjoy.
