Bluhar

This is a dish typical of Java island (Even i found the name sounds weird, so Mr. Gorilla, stop mocking as if you, french, are being the only one who find it amusing!). I got the reference from: Variasi Masakan Jawa (Javanese Dish Variation) by Munawaroh & Jasmine (Kawan Pustaka 2006).

Ingredients:
  • 300 gr of lamb, cut in dice, ditch the greasy part
  • 6 bird eyes chillies, sliced
  • 2 shallots slice thinly
  • 2 garlic crushed and chopped
  • 1 tbs parsley
  • 1 cm of ginger, crushed and chopped
  • 1 tsp of galangal powder
  • I pinch of white pepper
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tbs of Indonesian sweet soy sauce
  • 2 indonesian bay leaves
  • ¼ lemon
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 500 ml water

Direction:
  1. in a pan, stir fry the garlic and shallots together with ghee, add ginger, galangal, bay leaves and chillies.
  2. Add the meat, pepper, salt, and soy sauce. Reduce heat and put the lid of the pan. Cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Pour water, let it cook until boiled and add the lemon juice, stir.
  4. Add the parsley, and take out from heat.
  5. Serve by sprinkling fried shallots, and to be eaten with rice.
